Loss Control Specialist
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Loss Control Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by client interaction, skilled in safety and risk management, and motivated to build and expand a vital service offering. As a key resource for both clients and internal teams, this position blends technical loss control expertise with consultative and relationship-building skills.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000
Salary is dependent on collective experience, knowledge, and skillsets for the posted role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted consultant to producers and loss control teams
- Respond to agency office service requests related to loss control needs
- Analyze, write, and deliver clear, actionable loss control reports
- Conduct and document field visits and site evaluations for clients
- Develop strong relationships with clients and producers to identify and address safety needs
- Travel to client sites, lead client meetings, and conduct follow-up calls as needed
- Partner with clients to participate in and support safety committee meetings
- Recommend and present safety improvement strategies to clients
- Deliver engaging safety training and education sessions
- Promote and sell loss control services to clients and prospects
- Develop deployable programs and materials that support safety and risk management initiatives
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide tools and resources for client engagement
- Interact with insurance carriers, including occasional negotiation discussions
- Serve as a liaison between clients and insurance carrier Loss Control departments following inspections, assisting clients with implementing recommendations and negotiating acceptable resolutions with Loss Control representatives.
- Engage in knowledgeable, professional discussions regarding loss control to advocate for client needs while maintaining carrier relationships.
- Build and maintain relationships with Loss Control professionals across our partner insurance carriers.
- Understand the various Loss Control resources available and coordinate their deployment to support client risk management efforts.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Accept special assignments as directed by leader
- Support agency directives in effectively managing agency/carrier relationships
- Demonstrate general knowledge of agency carriers, carrier/broker marketplace and underwriting in order to coordinate with insurance companies to address client issues and solve client problems
Job requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant loss control, safety consulting, or risk management experience (required).
- Familiarity with creating marketing/educational materials tailored for loss control topics (required).
- Proven ability to develop and implement loss control evaluations and assessments for clients (required).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (required).
- Based in our Eden Prairie, Minnesota location (required).
- Background or certification in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or related field (preferred).
- Experience working with commercial insurance carriers (preferred).
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA) (preferred).
