Christensen Group Insurance (“CGI” or “We”) is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information obtained from others or from you through this website or otherwise. For purposes of this Policy, personal information means all public and nonpublic personal information related to an identified individual consumer, which is sometimes referred to as personally identifiable information, unless otherwise noted herein. This Policy therefore applies to any individual consumer whose personal information we process or obtain for or relating to our services. Personal information does not include anonymized data or de-identified data, which does not identify an individual consumer.

Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some, but not all data sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you what information we collect and share and how we share and protect said information.

Personal Information We Collect

As an independent insurance agent, we will collect personal information about you in connection with or for our services. This includes information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with you as an individual. The type(s) of information we may collect and process about you will depend on the types of insurance (or products) in which you are interested. Such personal information may include the following:

  • Personal details: Your name, age, gender, date of birth, photographs, marital status, nationality, height and weight, leisure activities and interests.
  • Contact Information: Your address, telephone numbers and email address.
  • Identification information and criminal data: Your government-issued ID, driving license, social security number, driving record and criminal record (but only where it is lawful to collect this data).
  • Information about your family and home: Your family health or morbidity history, number of children and names, age and gender of children, your dwelling type, your household income, home valuation, household demographics and city or state you need insurance.
  • Employment and experience information: Your employment history, job role, salary, employment benefit options, educational background and any professional licenses and qualifications.
  • Financial information: Details pertaining to your bank account, debit / credit card number and expiration date, annual income, investment/savings, credit history and transaction history.

We may collect personal information from the following sources:

  • You. We will collect personal information through applications and other forms you submit to CGI; information you provide to CGI through our website, email, other written correspondence, or in communications with CGI; and your transactions with us, such as payments of premiums or submissions of insurance claims.
  • Third Parties. We may collect personal information from insurance companies with which CGI works; other insurance agents/brokers; third party claim administrators or processors; healthcare service providers; employers; credit bureaus; affiliates; financial institutions; lawful public sources; other third-party companies; and from individuals that you may be associated with, such as joint account holders or family members.

How We Use, Share and Protect Your Personal Information

We use and share your personal information for business purposes, which include, but are not limited to, providing our services and fulfilling our obligations to you and other third parties, including underwriting and transacting the business of your insurance application; reviewing, processing and managing claims; conducting data analyses, which help us assess risk, price products and services appropriately and improve our services; attempting to prevent and detect fraud, money laundering, terrorism and other crimes; helping develop new, and improve existing, services; operating and expand our business activities; procuring lawful consumer reports (or background checks) when necessary for desired insurance products; performing administrative activities in connection with our services; exercising, defending and protecting our legal rights or the rights of third parties; complying with legal obligations and to cooperate with regulatory bodies to which we are subject; researching and developing new insurance products; auditing our business; and for our marketing purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer/password safeguards and secured files and buildings. We implement technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk to the personal information we process. These measures are aimed at ensuring the on-going integrity and confidentiality of personal information.

When it is time to dispose of your personal information, CGI disposes of it in a manner that continues to protect the privacy of personal information.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data that is stored on a visitor’s hard drive while they are visiting this website. We may utilize a short-lived form of cookie when you visit this site. At CGI, a cookie is only used to identify one unique visitor from another visitor during a particular session. A session is the period of active site-use while that unique visitor is linked to our server. We may use cookie technology during a session as a tool to carry forward your input information during the enrollment process. This enables the visitor to input their information once and have the information appear later during the enrollment process. No personally identifiable information is stored on the cookie. The cookie expires and is deleted from the visitor’s computer as soon as they close their browser or if they are not actively browsing our website for more than 20 minutes. Should a previous visitor to our website return for a new session, they will be issued a new cookie and in no way will they be recognized as a visitor from a previous visit or session.

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Christensen Group Financial, LLC has an insurance affiliate, Christensen Group Insurance, who CGF will share information with for customers who choose to the service.

Non-affiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

We do not share information with non-affiliates for marketing purposes.

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

We do not have any agreements for marketing purposes.

For California Residents: We will not share information we collect about you with nonaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by California law, such as to process your transactions or to maintain your account.
