CG Honors MLK Day with a Day of Service Across All Offices

News

CG employees and their families came together across all offices to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day through a shared commitment to service and community impact. This year’s MLK Day of Service reflected CG’s values in action, bringing colleagues together to support local organizations, strengthen community connections, and create meaningful experiences for employees and their families.

Across 10 CG offices, 95 employees participated in service activities, joined by 80 family members, resulting in a total of 175 volunteers contributing their time and energy throughout the day. Employees engaged in a wide range of service projects designed to meet community needs in the regions where CG offices are located, reinforcing the organization’s belief that collective action can drive meaningful change.

Volunteers supported hunger relief efforts by partnering with food shelves, pantries, and meal-packing organizations, helping families experiencing food insecurity through food preparation, donations, and delivery. Others focused on animal welfare by volunteering at shelters and sanctuaries, supporting rescue organizations, and providing comfort items for animals in need. Teams across multiple offices also created handmade comfort items for crisis nurseries, hospitals, food pantries, and public safety programs, offering care and reassurance to individuals and families during difficult times.

In addition to hands-on service, employees dedicated time to building community connection. Volunteers wrote handwritten cards and assembled care packages with messages of encouragement and belonging for seniors, children, and individuals facing barriers to care. Others volunteered in nursing homes through conversation, companionship, and shared activities, reinforcing the importance of human connection as a form of service.

Many employees shared that volunteering alongside coworkers and family members made the experience especially meaningful. Parents described the pride and excitement their children felt while participating, while others reflected on how the day reinforced a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Employees expressed appreciation for being part of an organization that creates space for service and supports involvement across all offices and life stages.

CG’s MLK Day of Service continues to be a reflection of the organization’s commitment to community, connection, and shared values. By bringing employees and their families together across offices to serve, CG demonstrated the impact that can be made when people come together with intention, compassion, and a shared desire to give back.
