Two to three months before turning 65, apply for Medicare Parts A & B through Social Security.
Receive your Medicare information
Once processed, you'll receive your Medicare number and/or Medicare card in the mail.

Compare your options
Medicare is voluntary. Compare your group coverage benefits and premiums with your Medicare options.
If you defer Medicare, make sure your employer's prescription drug coverage is considered creditable.

Fewer Than 20 Employees
Plan to enroll
Employees working for an employer with fewer than 20 employees will generally need to enroll in Medicare Parts A & B.
