Protect your vehicle

A stolen vehicle can create a financial and logistical nightmare. It may also cause your auto

insurance rates to rise. Here are seven tips to prevent yourself from falling victim to this crime:

  1. Never leave a key in your parked vehicle.
  2. Lock all windows and doors when you park.
  3. Don’t leave valuables in your car, especially in plain sight.
  4. Park in well-lit areas or parking lots.
  5. Install an anti-theft system in your vehicle if it doesn’t have one.
  6. Park vehicles in your garage, if possible.
  7. Install motion-activated lights to deter thieves if you can’t park in your garage.
